Description

Olivier specializes in orienteering and climbing.

But what is orienteering?

A special orientation map, a compass and you’re ready to go for an outdoor sporting activity, a mental challenge suitable for all!Orienteering (orientation course, OC for newbies!) offers great recreational opportunities for reflection and competition for the most athletic. Alone or with family, children, veterans, everyone will find happiness: walking in the countryside or in cities, discovering the territory, finding tags, or running as fast as possible on a suitable course.

The Orienteering is also for people with disabilities on the same paths or adapted as appropriate. So everyone can enjoy this sport and its natural playground.

In practice, on the ground, learn to move in different ways: either on foot, on mountain bikes, on skis or with snowshoes…day or night, individually or in groups. The objective is to know how to use a map and possibly a compass and move anywhere. Learn with the help of very precise maps, and as a treasure hunt, you have to find the tags that are indicated on the map.

There is a local club, ‘The Dés’orientés 31’, located in Encausse-les-Thermes where you can practice orienteering recreationally or in competition.
